The "Features" section of each issue of Education About Asia will address a specific theme (see below for a listing of scheduled themes).
Prospective authors of feature-length articles are strongly advised to be aware of the focus of each thematic issue before developing a manuscript. Although feature articles that are unrelated to the theme of a given issue will occasionally be published, it is probable that there will often be a long time lapse between acceptance of these types of manuscripts and their publication.
Prospective authors should bear in mind, however, that the "Resources" section of EAA will continue to include essays and reviews about a variety of topics. Authors are welcome to submit resource essays and reviews on topics dealing with any aspect of Asia.
Regardless of the type of article a prospective author is considering submitting, he or she should carefully read the Author Guidelines.
As is the case with all manuscripts, please send electronic versions to the EAA editorial office at edast@utc.edu.
We invite authors to submit manuscripts that address topics such as the potential conflicts between economic growth and the environment in Asia, the environmental movement in Asian countries, natural resources and their utilization and conservation, and environmental problems that affect particular Asian countries. The deadline for initial submission of manuscripts is AUGUST 10, 2010.
In this issue, we invite authors to address a wide variety of physical and human geography topics relating to Asia. Manuscripts suitable for use in survey level geography classes are of course, welcomed. However, we also seek manuscripts where authors integrate geographic content on Asia into history survey courses and other social science disciplines. The deadline for initial submission of manuscripts is DECEMBER 10, 2010.
This is, hopefully, the first of two special sections devoted to this topic. We seek manuscripts both from historians of Asia and scholars and teachers with expertise on the US and other parts of the world. The deadline for initial submission of manuscripts is MAY 10, 2011.
Food is utilized in this special section to stimulate both an interest in Asia and to assist readers in better understanding a wide variety of Asia-related cultural topics. The deadline for initial submission of manuscripts is AUGUST 10, 2011.
Hopefully, this expanded issue will include articles where authors address a wide range of historical and contemporary Asian visual and performing arts. Manuscripts suitable for not only art and music classes but other humanities disciplines and the social sciences are sought. The deadline for initial submission of manuscripts is DECEMBER 10, 2011.
