VOLUME 10, NUMBER 3, WINTER 2005:
The following handouts accompany Deborah Pellikan's lesson plan, "The Chinese Cultural Revolution: Dynamic Times, Dramatic Lessons for Today's Kids" from pages 50–57 of the Winter 2005 issue (Volume 10, Number 3).
Each PDF handout is two pages. Create a two-sided handout with these pages on a copier. Prepare enough copies of the five two-sided handouts so that the students in each of the five groups can be given one of the handouts, which will be made into a name placard.
To create a name placard with the two-sided handout, refer to the fold lines that appear on the page. Midway through the lesson the students will be instructed to fold their handouts in half, and then fold them in half again lengthwise to produce a name placard for the person whose point of view they will represent.
